About Richard Paloma
Author, Brushed Back and The Beach Club

Richard Paloma has been in law enforcement for over 20 years in Northern California. He has had various assignments including many years as a patrol officer and six years as a detective in the San Francisco Bay Area. For the last four years, Richard Paloma has been a police sergeant for a police agency in the San Joaquin Valley. As an investigator, he received recognition from his superiors for his investigations into auto thefts, sexual assaults, homicides as well as other incidents within the city he worked. He has used his training and experiences for the scenes in both his novels, Brushed Back and The Beach Club.

“My shift partners and I would joke that we were living the stuff Joseph Wambaugh would write about,” says Richard Paloma. “After many years I decided to incorporate some of those stories and write a novel.” In 2003 he finished The Beach Club and in 2004 Helm Publishing in Illinois picked it up for publication. In September 2008, Lachesis Publishing of Canada released Rich's second novel, Brushed Back.

Mr. Paloma is a member of the Police Writers Association, Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and also belongs to various writers’ groups in California. He has attended many writers’ seminars and conferences including the La Jolla Writers Conference in San Diego. He has a Bachelors Degree with honors from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California.

He currently resides in the San Joaquin Valley with his wife Robin.

His novels Brushed Back (ISBN 1-897370-45-8) and The Beach Club (ISBN 0-9723011-3-5) are available through  Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble.com, and Borders Books.
